Care & Handling

Every House of Moen piece is made to live with you for decades. A few minutes of the right care keeps it exactly as it left the studio.

Canvas Prints

Gallery-wrapped giclée canvas needs very little. Dust occasionally with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth or a clean feather duster, working lightly across the surface. Never use water, household cleaners, or solvents — moisture can penetrate the canvas weave and affect the inks. Avoid pressing on the canvas face; the surface should never be rubbed or scrubbed.

Acrylic Prints & Acrylic Frames

Clean with a fresh microfiber cloth only. Paper towels, sponges, and dry-dusting rags carry fine grit that leaves hairline scratches in acrylic. For fingerprints or marks, dampen the microfiber cloth slightly with water, or use a cleaner formulated specifically for acrylic and plexiglass. Never use glass cleaners — ammonia clouds acrylic permanently. Wipe gently in one direction rather than circles, and let the surface air-dry.

Cast acrylic floater frames are cleaned the same way. Handle the piece by its frame edges with clean, dry hands, and keep hard objects — rings, watches, buckles — clear of the surface when handling.

Originals

Originals are painted with crystal gemstone pigment and finished in the studio's cast acrylic frames. They deserve conservation-level habits:

• Never touch the painted surface. Oils from skin are permanent. Handle only by the frame, ideally with clean cotton gloves.
• No products of any kind on the artwork. If the surface ever needs attention, contact the studio first — we will advise or arrange care.
• Two people for anything over 36 inches. Large works should be moved vertically, never flat, and never leaned face-in against a wall without padding.
• Professional installation is worth it. For significant pieces we recommend an art installer — and we're glad to coordinate one for your space.

Placement

All works — prints and originals alike — last longest out of direct sunlight. Prolonged UV exposure will shift color over time in any artwork. Avoid placing pieces above active heat sources, in bathrooms, or anywhere with wide humidity swings. Interior walls with steady temperature are ideal. Use wall anchors rated well above the piece's weight; larger works should hang on two points.

Unboxing & Transit

Unbox on a clean, soft surface — never concrete or tile. Cut away from the artwork, remove protective film only once the piece is at its destination, and keep the original packaging if a future move is possible; it is the safest way for the piece to travel.
